Today, we’re thrilled to announce a groundbreaking update to Tweelin: wishes between users in different Microsoft 365 tenants can now be fulfilled—seamlessly and securely—via Microsoft Teams meetings.

This means that starting today, your sales reps can wish to talk to a partner contact. Your project managers can unlock impromptu insights from stakeholders in sister companies. Your holding group’s various entities can finally feel like one workplace, no matter how many M365 tenants they operate under.

In short: Digital Serendipity™ just went cross-org.

Why This Matters

Up to now, Tweelin’s real-time connection magic was confined to people inside the same organization. With this release, wishes can travel across tenant boundaries, enabling impromptu, just-in-time conversations between:

  • Partner organizations
  • Subsidiaries and sister companies
  • Separate divisions under a shared corporate umbrella

Whenever two users in different tenants are available and a wish is reciprocated, Tweelin now spins up a Microsoft Teams meeting that brings them together at the right time—no coordination, no scheduling friction.

Automatically Deployed. More Secure. Just Needs a Quick Admin Step.

This release is already live and automatically delivered to all existing Tweelin customers—there’s no manual update needed.

With it, we’ve taken a big step forward in security and simplicity:

  • âś… Minimized required permissions on your Microsoft 365 tenant
  • 🧠 Smarter tenant-to-tenant handling without opening up unnecessary APIs
  • 🔍 But: we’ve added a new permission to support user lookup via Microsoft’s Search API, which is vital for the “wish” command and meeting creation across tenants.

Action Required by IT Admins

To ensure Tweelin continues to function correctly and enables all the powerful new cross-tenant features, we kindly ask IT administrators to re-grant permissions and configure a Teams access policy:

  1. Re-authorize Tweelin in the Teams Admin Center
